MaiKa is a social enterprise founded by Harleen Oberoi. I take your privacy seriously and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy was last updated in 2026.

What I collect

  • Your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number.
  • The state or territory you live in, and the times that suit you to talk.
  • What you tell me in the information form about where you are on your journey, such as whether you are buying alone, whether it would be your first home, your rough timeframe and, only if you choose to share it, your residency status.
  • The topics you choose in the free guides questionnaire, anything you write in a message to me, and how you heard about MaiKa.

I do not ask for your income, debts, bank details, tax file number or identity documents through this website. Please do not send them. If we work together, we discuss your finances in a session instead.

Why I collect it

To arrange and prepare for our conversations, to provide the guides and services you ask for, to understand which topics women most need help with, and, only if you tick the box, to send you occasional tips and updates by email. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time.

Where it is stored

This website is hosted by Netlify, and form submissions are stored in Netlify's systems. I also receive a copy of each submission by email. Netlify may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. The website also loads fonts from Google, which means your browser connects to Google's servers.

Who I share it with

I do not sell or rent your personal information. I only share it with the service providers above, so they can run the website and my email, or where the law requires it.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, by emailing info@maika.org.au. I will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact me first at info@maika.org.au. If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
